Beyond Boundaries is a non-profit based in Richmond, Virginia specializing in guiding participants with disabilities, veterans, underserved youth, and recovery programs on outdoor adventures. Our mission is to offer individuals of all ability levels, no matter physical, cognitive, or economic situation, the opportunity to experience outdoor activities with the surrounding community.

At the AMC Conference, Beyond Boundaries will showcase adaptive kayaking and climbing gear, including an adaptive kayak and a pull-up bar / misty mountain seat and mechanical advantage pulley system demo with a stuffed bear. We won’t offer on-water activities or participant climbing, but we’ll be there to share equipment options and possibilities for adaptive adventures.

Sportable has created opportunities and transformed the lives of individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments through sport since 2005.

Central Virginia’s premier adaptive sports club, Sportable provides sporting opportunities to more than 400 athletes each year by offering a variety of competitive and recreational adaptive sports programs.

Our athletes are all ages, come from different backgrounds, and have varying abilities.
By fostering a fun, inclusive, competitive, and accessible environment, we transform the lives of our athletes and free them to see beyond their disability, enhance their peer relationships and help them to reach their personal finish line.

Are you ready to experience the thrill and freedom of adaptive cycling? Sportable is bringing a fleet of adaptive cycles and stationary trainers straight to you! Whether you’re curious about trying a handcycle, a recumbent bike, or other innovative adaptive options, this is your chance to discover what’s possible.

We will be on-site to guide you through the experience, answer questions, and help you find the cycle that fits your needs and goals. Whether you’re new to adaptive sports or an experienced athlete looking for your next adventure, there’s something for everyone.

Come out, hop on a cycle, and see how adaptive cycling can open new doors to fitness, fun, and freedom. Let’s ride together — the possibilities are endless with Sportable!

Power Soccer:

Power Soccer is the ultimate adaptive sport, combining speed, skill, and strategy on a standard basketball court. Teams of four players — including a goalkeeper — battle it out in two exciting 20-minute halves, delivering nonstop action and competition.

Whether you play in your everyday power chair with an attached foot guard or in a specialized chair designed for elite-level performance, Power Soccer is accessible for athletes of all experience levels. The oversized 13-inch soccer ball is specially designed for better visibility and control, ensuring every play is full of energy and excitement.

"I walked into the conference lobby the morning before the conference began and asked a guy passing by if he was with the wake surfing group, and he said, "No, but could I come anyway?" Johnathon got in a van in Georgia and drove 2 hours with a complete stranger to Alabama on a whim, with little information to go off. I think this is a perfect example of what I experienced at the AMC conference. I received nothing but kindness, openness, a sense of trust, and honest interest from everyone I met. I was amazed by this community and the welcome I felt in it. It was a highlight in my nearly 10-year career to share adaptive recreation with a community that has been underserved. I look forward to seeing AMC be more represented in recreation and for Adaptive sports to be a staple at AMC conferences moving forward!"
