We will join a guest, Daniel E. González! 🤗💙 I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, on November 11th, 1996. I was born with an Amyoplasia-type form of Arthrogryposis. My parents were told by doctors that I wouldn’t be able to dress myself, feed myself, or walk by myself. My father, my mother, brother, and sister all moved to Houston, Texas, in 1997 so I could receive treatment at Shriners Hospital for Children – Houston.
Through intense physical therapy and persistence, I’m now 27 years old, happily living with my girlfriend, her son, and our dog in San Marcos, Texas. I rode my motorcycle safely to my physically demanding job at a pipe factory, carrying heavy pipes around a warehouse. As a young adult seeking fame, I lived in Hollywood and gravitated toward the health and nutrition industry, which focused on mind, body, and spiritual well-being.
I played soccer or fútbol for over 18 years, did weight lifting for 9 years, incorporated meditation and gratitude in my daily rituals for around 11 years, and shared my story of living with AMC for roughly 12 years. In honor of my father, I continue to help people learn about themselves, teach tools to better their lives, and listen to the beautiful stories we all get to share.See you every Tuesday at 9 pm EST Tuesday on Facebook Live! 📲💙

This week, Frances & Colwyn will join us on a new podcast called Accessible Adventures Podcast! Frances has a side hustle as a travel agent specializing in Disney. I think I have a unique perspective in this business because I have experience planning my own Disney vacations, but I also have experience booking trips with accessibility in mind. Having Arthrogryposis has never slowed me down, & I have always found ways to do what I enjoy. While Colwyn is a renaissance man of many interests. My mind and my formidable spirit do not let AMC rule my life! I have AMC, but it does not have me! I am currently a full-time gaming and reaction streamer & a full-time online game master (D&D and such) with StartPlaying Games. 🤗💙

Tonight we join Barbara W., who is a software engineer who has been playing violin since she was five years old. Barbara was born with arthrogryposis affecting mainly her lower limbs but both her hands and right arm are weak. There is only one contracture in her left pointer finger. When she was young, the goal was to get her walking. Doctors paid very little attention to her hands. Her parents were concerned that she couldn’t hold a pencil! To strengthen her hands, her parents signed her (and her twin) up for violin classes. She has been playing ever since and is constantly evolving. She plays a small 1860 John Albert violin and uses a very light baroque bow.
