We are excited to share meaningful news from the upcoming NFL My Cause My Cleats initiative happening this Sunday. Atlanta Falcons linebacker Jalon Walker (@jalon_walker.3o) has chosen to represent Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC) on his custom cleats, bringing nationwide visibility to our community.
When Jalon steps onto the turf at Caesar’s Superdome, he will be wearing a bright shade of blue to honor his young cousin Edwin, who lives with AMC, as well as Edwin’s twin brother Howard. Their story reflects the experiences of many families connected to AMC. Jalon has spoken openly about their journey and the challenges Edwin has faced with joint contractures affecting his elbow, wrist & other areas. Despite these challenges, Edwin continues to move forward with determination, a quality familiar to so many in our community.
Jalon’s choice to elevate AMC during one of the NFL’s most recognized player-driven charity initiatives helps create a broader understanding of what AMC is & how it affects individuals and families. His support brings attention to the wide range of conditions under the AMC umbrella & reminds many others that our community deserves recognition, resources & representation.
We are grateful to Jalon Walker, the Atlanta Falcons (@atlantafalcons), & the NFL (@nfl) for helping raise awareness on such a visible stage. Acts like this help more people learn about AMC & the strength of the families & individuals living with it every day.
